Woman Portrait

12 x 11 oil on canvas

This was a portrait painting made at an Scottsdale Art School's open studio. The ground was very absorbent so I had to be very direct with the paint. Thank for looking.

About Me

My name is Michael Jay Williamson. I am an art teacher for elementary and middle school. I have primarily been a figurative artist working in drawing media, but several years ago I started painting with oil paints. Recently, I decided to start making smaller paintings with restricted time limit and smaller canvas sizes. I have been impressed with the skill level and dedication of some daily painters and would like to emulate their dedication. I appreciate any feedback that can help me become a better painter. Thank you for looking.
